I am making a 10" deep drawer out of 18 mm Baltic birch plywood. I cut mortises for 2 5mm dominos per joint. Is that enough to hold using Titebond III? Or should I do another Domino in halfway up the 10" side, making 3 dominos per joint?

After hearing a number of problems from Domino users with misalignment, I was very satisfied with the result. I merely marked the locations on all pieces and used the sight cursor. Everything lined up virtually perfect. I couldn't have done this well using any other tool or technique.

Add a 3rd Domino. You could do an exposed plunge if the drawer is assembled.

I just finished a 10" deep drawer and used 3 dominos. It just didn't feel right with 2.

my 2 cents

Put the third mortise in each joint last night. I haven't glued it up yet, but it seems right. There is just too much space where the plywood face is being glued to the edge. That isn't that strong and all the stress would be on 2 small Dominos without the third. I don't know why I hesitated. It was only about 5 - 10 minutes of my time and the Domino was still set up the way I used for for the other mortises anyway. Guess I just wanted verification and information for the future.

I could tell even though not glued together yet that the third Domino was the right way. Plus, it didn't take me any real amount of time anyway.
