I'd be interested in your thoughts gentlemen.
Is the base  of this unit  MDF?

Probably cardboard knowing that lot lol. I can't stand their adverts trying to scare people from buying veneered furniture. What they don't tell you is that all their stuff is made from hundreds of offcuts finger jointed together.

Anyway I'd say yeah it's likely to be MDF

Thanks.
That's what I thought. I think their  manufacturing facility  is in the far east. And afaik  the oak  is sourced there  also.

No draw runners either. Or draw stops so you can end up with the draw dropping on your feet [eek]. Considering the price point they are fairly well assembled with dovetailed draw fronts although the fit isn't great. Look like they have been cut with a bit that has seen better days. Joiner is correct on the "solid wood" being what I would call composite board. Hundreds of small pieces jointed together are very stable however which helps.

I it maybe stable.but I it looks bloody awful when just varnished.
Their add states its all solid oak so if the base mould was mdf that's very naughty.
