When will  Festool accept the new Apple HEIC  picture format?

I can't seem to post HEIC pictures and trying to convert them to JPEG is too frustrating. Even with the iMazing converter
it's still impossible to post pictures.

Any ideas TIA ( Thanks in advance )

Maybe thank Apple for creating a new image format that the World does not support as yet.

Thanks to Mr. GIF (CompuServe) and his whining because everyone was using the file format and no royalties were coming his way the PNG format was created in the early 90s. When .PNG came about it took a while to get accepted and supported. The patents on .GIF expired many years ago but PNG had caught on by then.

It is not Apple's image format. It was developed by the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG). It is used and supported by several operating systems including:

  • Windows 10 version 1803 and later
  • macOS High Sierra and later
  • iOS 11 and later
  • Android Pie and later

There also are a list of applications that can manipulate it. I don't even know how you can generate the files. I have a Mac, iPad, and iPhone and have never seen this format nor have I ever had any problem posting a file from my current or prior iPhones. Something is definitely amiss here.

Update:
I am wrong about the format's usage. Here is how to turn it off on an iPhone.

The software that runs this website was not created by Festool. The company or individuals who created it will need to update the software to handle the new format.

When my images are dragged out of iPhoto it looks like they are being converted to jpg automatically (or that is at least what it looks like is happening).

If your photos are in the Photos app on your Mac, you can export them out in jpeg.  A more important step is to reduce their size to medium because there is a max size on this forum upload size that was preventing me from uploading full-size images.

I just came across this when I realized my picture from my iPad would not upload. If I email the picture to myself it automatically converts it from HEIC to a JPEG. Hope this helps
