OBSOLETE - Inserting Videos

[size=14pt]

Did you upload them to UTube first, and then copy and then paste the link in your FOG post?

It is working.  Probably just a little while longer to load.  One thing about videos.  If you only want your videos seen by a select few then photobucket might be  a good choice but if you want the video seen by the masses then YouTube is a better route in my opinion.

Relating to a good point made by Peter, when uploading to UTube in settings you can, if you wish, set the Upload so it can only be viewed by those who have the link. Ie. those who read your FOG post.

I took a video to post on the forum and it turns out it's a 24 MB .mov file. The forum will not accept that file so I converted it to an 11 MB .mp4 file.

The forum then said it was too large to post so I compressed it into a 946 KB .mp4 file. I now get this message. "You cannot upload that type of file."

What type of video file is acceptable?

Just two more hoops and then you get to the “send me $20 and I’ll fix it” screen.

Just kidding.

You're not kidding Michael...I've been to that "fix it screen" a number of times last night and this morning. Except the $20 became $49 marked down from $75.  [big grin]

It's a short 9 second video showing how the LEDs in the built-in cabinet turn on and off automatically. Well the FREE convertor service would only convert half (4.5 seconds) of the video, so unfortunately the content that really counted was never shown. They wanted $49 for another 4.5 seconds of video.  [crying]

You could just upload the video to YouTube and post the link, that should create a thumbnail that you see in the post.
