Well, the subject pretty much says it all, but my main use for a router right now would be cutting dado grooves in 3/4" (or should I say 19mm?) melamine for "3/4"" melamine.
Would it be able to handle that? Of course, I do already have a 1/2" shank bit sized for that (can't recall the exact fraction off the top of my head), but I could always return it and put the money towards an 8mm version since the 1010 can't handle 1/2" bits.
You can tell how much woodworking I'm doing now, eh?
