OF 1400EBQ question

just checking that my new of 1400 ebq was in good working order after being delivered, i noticed  light or light from spark after switching off the motor,the light/spark is visible from the air intake for the motor at the top of the router on the side next to the speed adjustment wheel,is this normal, is it  merely a result of friction from the brake?

I believe that is perfectly normal for new brushed tool (as in a tool with a universal motor).  We don't have the brake here in the States so I can't comment on if the brake causes arcing or not.

I see the spark as well every once in awhile on my 1400 as well.

I have  seen sparks at one time or another on just about every tool I have with a Universal motor.
