Hi, I have an of 2200 eb and im finding it difficult to plunge and the rebound is also very slow. I assume its a problem with springs, maybe dirt or dust Is clogging it up. I can get access to the spring when you remove cover plate for motor. That has been removed and cleaned with some improvement. How do I remove the cover cap on the other side without damaging. Thanks

I'm also new to the 2200 so I don't have practical experience on this, but from what I've seen, it could be as simple as lubricating the plunge rods. Take some 3n1 oil, put it on a towel and then wipe thinly on the rods. Mine is still plunging smoothly.

Thanks man, that was first thing I tried but to no avail. Removing the sping and cleaning out has helped a bit but I just can't get to the other without damaging the plastic cover cap. 👍

WD 40 is a no-no...use something that evaporates and leaves a dry film. Here's a previous discussion on lubricants.

I might suggest using Militec-1 lubricant on the glide columns. It impregnates the steel with a lubricant that does not attract dust and the like. I might also suggest that you first use 0000 steel wool dry to clean off any micro-corrosion on the glide columns, then use the Militec-1 lubricant as instructed.

Thanks for the lubricant suggestion. I've tried a dry lubricant. The thing that helped the most so far was to remove and clean the spring and guide column that is accessed through the motor housing internally. Im just looking to see what the process is to remove or gain access to to the 2nd guide column spring cheers
