Both my 1/4" and 8 mm collets do not release bits without a fight. I always leave the bits about 1/8" from being fully inserted into my routers. Bits are usually a little sticky to remove from other routers, but with the 1010 they are so stuck I actually just damaged a bit trying to get it out.
