OF1400 - burst of light?

Just got a brand new OF 1400 and shortly verified it is working.

I noticed something strange - it seems to operate normally when I press the trigger, once I stop however I see a short burst of light coming out from the motor (so through the ventilation slots at the top). Is that normal? Why is that?

It's quite normal for the electrical motor brushes  to spark whilst they wear in.

US models do not have a brake, at least according to historical FOG discussions.

Eg. This thread discusses sparking and brakes or lack of in NA.

The poster asking the questions is not in North America so it is possible that he has a brake equipped model.
