OF1400 not plunging

New member here, having just bought a job lot of Festools ex-trade. I'm working my way through them cleaning and fixing as I go, and I've stumbled on an issue with an OF1400 router that was installed in a router table. Having removed it from the table, I've found it won't plunge fully; there's a slight bit of free movement (about 2mm) at the very top of the stroke, but nothing more. I can lock it with the locking knob to remove that movement, but there's nothing else, even if I remove the knob completely. There's a tiny bit of surface corrosion on the legs, but not enough to cause this. Anyone got any ideas?

Don't underestimate the corrosion. I would spray some penetrant on them and let is sit upside-down a while.

Could there be something on the router that locks it from plunging that was part of the router table?

That's what I thought but the table was a DIY job made of MDF so there's no interface other than the screws that were holding it on. I can't find anything else that would act as a lockout, unless I'm being denser than the MDF (always a possibility).

Turns out I underestimated the corrosion; a complete strip down and some percussion persuasion and I'm back plunging! Thanks all

Awesome. Now, stick with it. Some periodic wipe-downs, with a protective oil, will keep it that way.
