OF2200 out of plumb

I have a OF2200 in a CMS module (Norway, Europe). Noticed that my cut was off and checked plumb for the bit towards router plate. Was a bit off. Took the router out of the module, Mounted the standard base, and inserted a 8mm rod from the fence (checked for straightness first). Seems that the router is quite a bit out of plumb. Ca 1 mm on 10 cm. Have searched but can not find others with similar problem or solutions. Does anyone know if plumb can be adjusted on the 2200?

Anyone with similar experience or suggestion for a solution? Maybe with a non-Festool router even? I have never bothered to check for plump on and of my (two) Festool routers. Just assumed they were made perfect :-)

I have not experienced this, nor heard of anyone who has. Seems hard to figure out how it could happen. If the base was out of square with the motor, you would think it wouldn't plunge. If the spindle was crooked, it seems like the motor would have a hard time not blowing up.

Sounds like it's time to take advantage of Festool's legendary service.

Thank you for answer. Yes I agree it seems odd. Could be the collet maybe, but I first noticed something was wrong when using the 1/2 collet. Then switched to 8mm to measure with the steel rod. I purchased the CMS with the OF2200 back in 2018, so it is no longer within the service period. I have not used it for critical precision-work until now, so have not noticed any problems. The deviation is minimal but noticable and affects the accuracy of my current project (solid wood edge-banding for my new kitchen using the Whiteside 3400 set) I will take some pictures and send to the dealer to ask for advice.

If it is collet run-out, the angle would change as the spindle rotates. "Out of plane" would be different.

Good point, I did not think to check for that. Will do when I am back home after the holidays. Thanks.

Is the out-of-plumb issue related to the OF-2200 specifically, or only when it's installed in the CMS?
-- If it's in the OF-2200 itself, and there aren't on-board methods for adjustment, you may be able to install some shims on the underside of the aluminum base.
-- If only when installed in the CMS, then some machine shims between the base of the OF2200 and the CMS plate should resolve your issue.

McMaster Carr sells shim tape, if you apply the shim tape to the underside of the CMS plate, it should automatically index the router whenever you reinstall it:https://www.mcmaster.com/products/shim-tape/

I am not familiar with the CMS mounting, but I have seen a similar problem on my Jessem router lift.

If it's not perfectly plumb when you clamp the motor, it will be off.

Have you tried simply removing the router and re-mounting it ?

Several years ago, I found that the router plate was not exactly co-planar with the CMS frame.  I used small pieces of aluminum duct tape (stacked) to pad the front edge of the plate up to the same plane as the frame.  End of problem!
