Hello
Just received OF 2200 today.
Before i call the shop i want to make sure there is not something i'm missing or if this is a known problem.
At times when plunging if you don't put the weight on the plunge rods exactly even the plunge will stick.
There seems to be a small amount of play on one side and it's enough to send the machine of at an angle.
Tried mounting it on my CMS-OF and because the winder supports the machine from one side only it pulls it up at an angle and it keeps sticking, i have to physically hold the router straight to be able to wind it up.
it's only about 1mm of play but it's enough to make one side stick.

Any thoughts?

I would get it looked at. Some lite machine oil might reduce the sticking but the 1mm offset would be a concern.
I have not noticed that mine does this and 1mm would be noticeable.

I called the shop and they will call me back in the morning.
Trying to upload a video of it at the moment.

This is a know problem with the 2200 and is exaggerated when put in a router table  the 2200 crabs and is very difficult to raise  in a router table  The problem is Festool know about it but won't admit there is a problem. Well officially anyway.

But that aside , its the best heavy duty router I have ever comc across . It's so powerful and well balances it's a dream to use .

But hey what do I know , I have not made a video about it  [smile]

I think you should  [blink]

Meanwhile [member=42972]jmac80[/member] I agree that doesn't look good. Mine is probably too resistant to movement if anything, going to try some lubricating oil on it to see if it loosens up, so there's an inconsistency across the board if that's the case.

Anyone see the Festool hat get blurred on Grand Designs this week?
