Office case work

re-size all the drawers to get the top of the drawers to line up with the doors. The painting was easier then I thought. I add FLOETROL flood additive to the paint and it flowed our great.

They look much better.
What did you paint (coating kind and technique -  brush spray)them with?
what kind of top are you going to put on it and is there any overhang?

The first go round I sprayed them using a Mini-Mite 4 XPC system. The last coat was lightly brushed to give it a costume hand finished look. The re-sizing was brushed and blended in.

The top will have a small overhang. The materiel is still in negotiation with the wife. We have looks at granite tile with a large ogee edge from this company http://www.bedrockcreations.net/.  Total cost will be around $800. Or we could go for a more cost  efficient plywood top with a solid wood edge treatment. Still undecided.

Need to finish the remaining two file drawers, on the opposite side and the bottom drawer by the desk.

Nice recovery... I think the key to good work is to be able to recovery from minor errors.

Not sure what you plan to use the Office for (presentation display) but working on granite day in and day out may be a bit much. Plywood seems a bit on the industrial side. Ya you can make it look good but personally I don't think the finish and your door/drawer design suits plywood. I think a nice veneer (over ply?) of maple, or even birch with some honey color or if you like the contrast of a stained cherry, walnut or even Oak might look good with your design.
Just my 2 cents.

solid wood top, butcher block maple or an end grain walnut top real thick with a wicked edge profile would look studly
