CARVEX!!

Only questions are, and this is for lucky early release recipients, is

Any major difference in power or speed between the corded vs. Cordless models? And does it come with the bevel base! I know  [dead horse]

I realize weighting will be a consideration but man does my business need one of the D handle models!

We almost exclusively use our jigsaws on a bevel. When installing hardwood up against baseboards we are always using the quick bevel feature on our Bosch.
But man would it be nice to set the base in the concave setting and then we could just leave it.

Need any tests done Shane? In real world, hardcore everyday use? I'll give a video review!  Please please.  [not worthy] [not worthy]

Unfortunately I don't have answers to your questions. Biggest difference might be the weight, the cordless is a bit more heavy 2,3 kg vs 1,9 kg for the D model but I'm interested in why you prefer the D handle over the barrel? I would assume it is due practical reasons. Please tell me all about em.

I guess its what im used too. Never owned a barrel grip. I know I like the D handle because I can wrap my fingers all the way around it. Sometimes the jigsaw gets jammed up and vibrates off of the wood and I feel like I have better control of its 'out of control-ness' with the D handle.

But if Shane wanted to send me a Barrel grip for review that would work!  [big grin]

The speed is different from model to model. You can get all of the specs from the catalog.

The D-handle models have a variable speed trigger on the handle in addition to the variable speed dial. Whereas the barrel grip has only the variable speed dial.

Corded Weight = 4.2 lbs
Cordless Weight = 5.1 lbs

This will be the first corded Festool that has a brushless motor.

Basically!  Barrel Grip is dangerous and D handle is safe lol!  Thats why I bought Barrel grip cus I like danger!  I say it cus you know if you accidentally hit something under your work piece like you bench you jigsaw bounces up well!  When that happens it makes you jump and then you go all crazy cus your trying to stay in control but also trying to turn the DAM thing off but cus its bouncing your kinda struggling to get to the off switch! It definitely makes you more aware cus if your cutting a work top you do not want to be bouncing around lol  The D handle has both options constant or trigger! Well trigger you just simply let go if you hit something so its safer!    The reason I did not go for the D handle is cus the D handle feels cheap the trigger feels like its in the wrong place and the handle feels to thin and plastic the bosch precision just feels more solid.  Also I like jigsawing from the other side of the work piece so basically the jigsaw is upside down the D handle is awkward but the barrel grip is far nicer to use upside down.

I own the Cordless Version I have 14.4 batteries and 18v batteries Using the carvex with 14.4 or 18V makes no difference in power the only benefit of using the 18V is the jigsaw last longer per charge I havent noticed a WOW difference but it does last longer.  I believe the cordless feels like a corded jigsaw it is powerfull.

I went for the barrel grip too because I believe it gives me more control over the machine and it could be guided with both hands when needed.
Like you, JMB read your post a while ago, I went for the complete set with the accessories sys but went for the corded instead.
