It's getting tiring that when you visit a vendor's site, they do the pop-up "hey! good day, and welcome! please give us your email address to sign up for our newsletter and you'll get $10 off your first $50+ order!" "oh, thanks for that email and the spam has already started, but we did forget to mention that for the discount, you also need to sign your cell number up for daily spam SMSs"
Yeah, I unsub with "reason: other" and tell them I'll give them my cell number if they'll give me their CEO's cell number so I can forward all the SMS spam I'll get for them to get a couple bucks. He can't block me either.
I hate this new trend.
Someone working at a vendor: any idea of the revenue stream from ruining your customer's cell life for a buck? I'll never give them my number except for when they won't use it for spam.
I feel like getting a Google Voice number to sign up for these things then set it to never bother me.
