Today on Festool Live, Sedge announced the next 100th Anniversary blue Systainered Festool that will be released in the USA on September 18, 2025:

The Rotex RO 150!!!!!

AND it's going to come with a 12 pack of Granat abrasives!!!!

Is it just me or is this just a yawner?
I want to be excited. I want to get a tool in a blue systainer. I want to be part of the fun. But the anniversary releases this year have been very Mid. The tools are Clutch but the set doesn't Slap.

DF500, TSC 55, TS 60, RO 150 - all great tools. But it's like they're playing the hits that everyone already has, so why bother trying to get (another) one? During the biggest anniversary any company could have and new tool releases galore this year, it seems that they've missed the mark. The ETSC2 should have been a blue release - that seems like a No Brainer - at least a short run of them.

It doesn't even have to have a freebie - though the earbuds with the TSC 55 and TS 60 were very nice additions. Comparatively, a set of earbuds makes the 12 pack of Granat very Meh.

Alright, enough griping. Back to work...

I think they are missing it totally. This could be a spectacular thing for an achievement that a lot of companies never reach. It seems lazy to make the "special branding" on the Systainer, instead of the tool itself.
They came out with that quirky little pizza cutter, when the TS60 launched.
I'm looking for something new (or at least up-dated) not a "package deal" of an existing tool.
As @onocoffee said, I want to be wowed......it's just not happening.

Ya, this whole 100 Anniversary Festool rollout has been less than inspiring. 😩 The first missed opportunity was for Festool to release the new ETSC 2 125 & 150 as just so much chum. They deserved blue Systainers and they deserved more promotion as they were new products. What the 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

So then with much fanfare we proceed to Anniversary Granat Packs...what the 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫...Festool has been selling Granat for the last 15 years.

Moving on to an Anniversary DF 500...yawn again nothing's different and nothing's changed except for the color of the Systainer. At least put a badge on the tool you're attempting to celebrate.

MB 40 another new tool and worthy of some accolades...it should have been packaged in a blue Systainer and heralded as a new product but it became again...just chum.

Ya I like the engineering aspect of Festool a lot...the marketing side...not so much.

Yes! I have said this, from the beginning. Put the branding on the tool, not just the Systainer. I could go buy a brand new DF500 today and plunk in in my Systainer (or vice versa) and you would never know which is which.

Does this impact the tool in any way? nope. Does anyone really see this as a "collector's item" for future value? probably not. Heck, a lot of users sell off the Systainer or hide them in some deep-storage place. That branding/100 logo goes with it.
I would really like to see the Systainers available, especially the Org type. I would buy a couple of those.

While I agree, I suspect that putting the branding on the tool would result in a new part number and that might require new testing and certification.

Launching a modern re-make of some tool from the archive would've been rad and more anniversary-ish. Like a modern re-release of some old saw (safety upgraded ofc) or a hand tool or sander or something. I would 100% buy a re-released Festo sander if it was some ETS 125 in a retro shell that looked like some old sanders from the 60s. Put it in some vintage metal container. Could've been cool.

Or resurrecting some limited line of retired tools. If they did a 100-year re-release of the RAS or the Vac Sys, in a blue systainer, only available in 2025... crazy sales.

Or just this, haha

This must work on some people or the marketing people wouldn't do it but for me...

I couldn't care less about Special Edition in a different colour stuff.
Zero interest in Festool branded Stabila levels (ok levels but I'm not paying more for the Festool branding) I don't care about Festool T shirts, pencils, safety specs or whatever.
I'm not a collector, don't feel the need for a matched set.

I do however work as a carpenter and like for my tools to play nice together so I've got a few Festool saws and a router, plus a class M extractor.
Fancy limited edition colours are getting well into "First World Problems" territory and Ive got more important things to do with my money.

My goal is to maximise profit whilst minimising cost expenditure. Getting all doe eyed over unique, bold new graphics stuff doesn't help with that.

Other peoples mileage may vary.

If that really is the regulatory state we live in, maybe something as simple as changing the color of the plastic parts, of the main body? Certainly, that wouldn't matter?

While I tend to agree, most people don't care at all, they have introduced special edition products, in blue Systainers before. Since those were somewhat random, it just seems that 100 years is begging for more.

Sedge needs to take his meds and stop yelling into the microphone, festool live is unwatchable in its current form. Either have him talk about the products and stop with the three stooges Mo impersonation or get a new host of Festool Live. As for Festool 100 anniversary, look for the RO150 to be updated after its promotion is over. Why would they do anything different than they did with the domino 500. Close out the old inventory on a promo and then introduce a new product.

Talk about coming out swinging for your second post in 6 years! ;-)

I do agree about Sledge, no doubt he's a great bloke and comes across as such, but I struggle to watch any eps as I also just can't stand the schtick!

I would have been very interested in a re-release of the LS 130.

After watching quite a bit of Sedge videos and lives, I'm presuming him and I are very close in age. And as someone who grew up in America watching afterschool reruns, I watched a lot of The Three Stooges, but I wouldn't work Curly impressions into my typical lexicon. That said, the information and instruction Sedge provides in the video is typically very good - I personally have learned a lot about the Domino from his videos.

And while he does get boisterous, I typically find the audio levels of Festool Live to be pretty low. Like this past one, I was watching in the truck and I had the volume cranked all the way to full - and the audio was still low. I find the FT Live audio levels to vary wildly from week to week.

I never understood why they discontinued this sander, only one of it's kind on the market as far as I can tell, and wildly popular. I would never sell mine, it's just too insanely useful.

I'm actually shaping a new base for it right now to make sanding the grooves in my charcuterie boards a lot easier.

It might. I know that things might have changed (and relevant to your previous work which was fabulous) but when I was a construction project manager for a retailer, I had to come up with ways to reduce renovation costs due to the fact that we were in bankruptcy protection, and one way was to standardize the sizes of our lighted electrified display cases. Each custom size required a separate UL Listing, so by standardizing and using fillers for differing site conditions we saved the delays and certification costs.
