As my girl and I are starting our old log house project from the first of April we couldn't resist already looking around for some interior ideas. The house we'll be working on was build somewhere 1890's-1910'ish. We would like the house to remain its characteristics, though modern conveniences will be integrated such as thermal heating, floor heating etc. A while ago we stumbled upon a Swedish carpenter, Rönnerholm, who builds kitchens and bathroom furniture. We totally fell in love… Luckily we won't have to be thinking of a kitchen for the coming year yet as there will be lots of other work to do and money to be spend (beside the basic structure of the house mostly everything else will have to be redone including electricity, pluming, isolation, renewing the floor throughout the first floor, building a bathroom, toilets etc.) Anyways, in all excitement I want to share Rönnerholm's work with fog as I've rarely came across such wonderful work. His kitchens are pricey! [crying] Costs are approximately €2500 per meter (upper cupboards included) when ordered in Finland. We would likely have to settle with something else but getting ideas and dreaming along is always nice! :
Why not build my own kitchen?
I neither have the experience or the sufficient tools (yet ;D) to build my own kitchen but my T12 and rotex 90 are a start. I do want to make some of our own furniture in the future when the shop that we planned for the yard is build but that might take at least a year, maybe even two from now and a kitchen we will need before the shop is build.
Just wanted to share this with fog as I'm sure some of you will appreciate the ideas as seen in the images. Besides it's a good excuse to try and upload some pics as from the 1st of April I'll try and cover our renovation project from time to time.
Kind regards,
Mauri
