On site aluminum cutting

The 55 and the Kapex make quick work out of trimming out windows with jamb extenders on Pella windows. Some pics of how I do my cutting in the van.

They give you no instructions on how to install these so I just tried to figure what works for me.

I just used the non ferrous (ts55) blade to chop down some .020" titanium sheet good. at 4-6 setting the first 3-4 inches were smooth as things when on it left some bur marks down the path in which i had to clean up with some sanding. anyhow i just wanted to share some info as festool reps had no idea about cutting titanium which is non ferrous and has almost double in density vs alum

The aluminum cutting blade does a good job on these. They are not very thick the ones from Marvin windows are thicker. The pink stuff works well because I first make a cut about 3/8" deep in the foam then slip the edge down in it holds it nice and snug so it won't move. Aluminum is thin enough you don't need a spacer to hold up the other side of the rail.
