Once in a While...

As a painter, trim can get to a point of pretty much btdt. Once in a while, you see something that you either haven't seen before, or you haven't seen recently enough to remember.

This one didn't ring a bell.

Hats off to carpenters who care.

Way to close to what looks like the ceiling to me.
That can't be easy (painting above) that casing, looks like about an inch and a half. Maybe it's just the photo.

Thanks, the picture is a little bit out of context. It is a 10,000 sf new construction. Very trim heavy with traditional detail, so everything in the package is a little bit large.

It is somewhat common when large windows are stuffed into short ceiling areas, to see a shadow line detail between the ceiling and top of casing instead of burying the casing into the ceiling.

That is very nice work. I am more impressed after seeing the second picture.
A lot of different trades had to work together to get that to work out.
