One for the Aussies...

I received the same e mail from the toothless dog they call the ACCC. Clearly Tooltechnic Systems have told a good story and managed to get RPM for another 3 years.

I noticed the bias in the ACCC documentation, there was not very much put forward in regards to our submissions as to why they shouldn't have retail price maintenance. In particular the shortcomings we raised were not addressed.

Might have a look at the next steps. Last time I tried the Commonwealth Ombudsman but that went nowhere.

I think the telling factor this time was the significant increase in numbers of dealers supporting continuance of the original Determination.

Wonder how much influence was made in their decision. I know my local Festool dealer doesn't move a lot as I never see anyone in the section. Therefore I wonder how RPM is assisting these dealers to hit their sales targets.

One dealer in the submissions was dead against it, which was interesting.

Hello All

Hope you all are well.

FYI I contacted TTS about the Cyclone separator and the MW1000 workstation. I have been advised that they are expected early next year down under. Pricing is unknown.

I am interested in both of these items in the future.

I ordered the cyclone separator a while ago, it shipped last Wednesday and landed in country Tuesday. Now need Auspost to deliver, paid 260 Euro plus postage of 45 Euro

Hi FOG users.

I picked up some of the October specials, but I was wondering whether to buy other items now, or wait for the new year?

I guess there could be promotions in January, but also a possible annual price increase?

I would be looking to get an OF1400 and TS55 plus bits a pieces.

Should I buy in December, knowing there's a 30day return period, so if there are deals in the new year I can possible grab those instead?

Thank you!!!

They bring their promos out on a cycle. Generally for a TS55 of OF1400 you'll save $100 or maybe get a blade. Whilst its not a lot I usually wait for the promos to come out on principle. If we didn't have RPM I would purchase as I would for anything else.

Currently looking for a tool supplier who does trade accounts, I want to get the RG130 and CT36 autoclean to use at work when we do floor repairs. Any recommendations?

Much appreciated.

Check out Northern Abrasives at Brookvale (Rod and Darren). They should look after you well, but I have no experience with trade accounts through them.
Easiest to email them (info[member=15095]NorthernAbrasives[/member].com.au).

No one will do trade discounts on Festool gear. The MRP applies across all customers and accounts. You'll get a 5% discount on a purchase above $6000. The only other way you'll get a discount is if you're a registered education facility.

Worth having a look around in all your local Festool dealers now. I picked up a 4m plug-it lead, 800mm guiderail and a Kapex 120 at significant reductions yesterday. There was a TS55, jigsaw, CT mini or midi and a light, some with a couple of hundred+ off in one of my locals.

Christmas clearout time I guess.

Yeah deleted and superseded stock can be discounted. The mini is being dropped in Oz so whatever is left in the shops is it. Likewise with the stock levels of the midi until the new model hits the country early next year. Plug it leads have had a revamp too so older models are being cleared out.

Hi Guys,

Trade account is to enable purchase with a PO rather than the discounts. Otherwise it's using petty cash lol

Hi everyone

The latest round of quasi promotions are out. Was looking at some of the prices, some of the so called rebates were actually disguising price rises. For example the OF1400 by itself used to be $1115.00 now its $1235 but you get a free systainer. I think it flies in the face of even their price fixing deal, advertising a discount which in fact is a price rise.

Wonder what our friends at the ACCC think of it.

I don't think the OF1400 is advertised as discounted in the brochure - green prices are 'specials', black are normal. And the new normal is $1235. There's no attempt to disguise the price rise (and we all knew it was coming from 1 Jan - it's like death and taxes).

There's just a redemption promo with it for the Sys1 router storage box.

I weighed up the risks of waiting for the new campaign vs the Jan price rise, and decided to get in before the price rise. Glad I did. None of the redemption promos in this one are of much value to me. The battery in the previous one was, the radio wasn't.

Thanks Peter for the heads up.

I'm sure some of us will be keen to enter. Nothing like the chance to add another Festool tool to the collection.

Are any other Aussies being 'Blitzed' by FESTOOL Australia's Advertising on UTube?

I know it's most likely the UTube algorithm but I am so over the FESTOOL Adverting on UTube. Each and every single viewing for the last week.

[size=24pt]It's a enough to turn one off FESTOOL!  [eek]

The Algarithm is ineresting in that I seldom watch woodworking on UTube. In the last month I have been viewing aviation restoration and British Canal Boat Vlogs. However two months ago I was viewing woodern boat restoration  Vlogs and one of these restorers uses a FESTOOL plane and a TS. So there you go!  [eek]

I hate to burst your bubble but utube probably has a cookie installed in your brower that tracks all your web activity.  They probably know more about you then your significant other does!
