Ok, besides providing an income, there is another" benefit" of being a (former) FT Dealer - and that's getting to meet some FOGers I  would probably not have had the opportunity to do so otherwise.

Sooooo, in some PM's with Matt E  (Dynaglide) he expressed an interest in purchasing my Festool CMS router table. Now, Matt's in Virginia and I'm in Nj so it was a hike for him to drive a couple of hundred miles to pick it up. Well, have to say Matt is one heck of a nice guy - interesting and interested and we enjoyed a few hours of Festool (and other) talk over a NJ diner breakfast after the CMS was packed up and before he made the trip back home.  Time enjoyably spent this Sunday morning.

Thank you Matt.

It was a pleasure meeting you. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the stories of where and how you started with being a dealer and how it all worked (or didn't work) behind the scenes. There is definitely a lot more to it than most will ever realize.

Thank you for breakfast (yes folks he buys you breakfast when you drive 4hrs to buy a tool from him  [laughing]) and spending the time with me. I can't wait to get the CMS setup and put to use. First project will be plantation shutters.

Matt

I once drove from Houston, TX to Pittsburgh, PA to buy a tool so New Jersey sounds reasonable to me.

And I do love breakfast!

Bob is one of the good guys.  I hope to meet him one day.
