I saw a message today from Festool to their dealers about some serious issues when using a Dust Deputy with a CT and the message was don't do it. Specifically, they had received numerous complaints that the Dust Deputy had caused a significant number of CT Dust Extractor failures, breaking the anti-static loop and ultimately shorting the circuit boards. To quote, "We strongly discourage the use of the Oneida Dust Deputy, or any other non-Festool product (unless otherwise stated) in conjunction with any and all Festool products..." In addition, the message said, "Festool authorized dealers are asked not to display, advertise or promote the Dust Deputy as a suitable add-on to any of the Festool CT Dust Extractors." Pretty strong statement IMO. I also heard Oneida is taking back unsold units from their dealers. I have one and have stopped using it. I'll find out Monday what to do with it but I suspect I'll simply return it to my dealer for a refund. To bad, it worked pretty well but it had a nasty habit of sucking up the bags inside if the vacuum equalizer hose wasn't hooked up property. I don't blame them for taking this stance. It's bad enough when your own designs have problems, no need to dog pile on with someone else's bad design causing you headaches.
