Oneida height?

How tall is the Oneida dust devil, the one designed to snap into the top of a dust extractor?  With the hose attached would it be short enough to fit under an MFT3?  The way the hose loops into the top makes me think it wouldn't be able to fit.  Is it possible to use an elbow on the top?  Or does that introduce problems with how the unit would work?

Yes, it fits but not when mounted on top of the Festool dust extractor. That's how I have mine set up.

Another question about these things.
If the hose is antistatic, and the vac is grounded... Is the Oneida thing made from the same plastic or does it need a wire from the antistatic hose to the vac?

You did not specify which extractor, but here is a CT26, no way the Dust Deputy will fit under the MFT when attached to the vac, the top of the Dust deputy lid is about even with the top of the MFT/3, then there is the cyclone on top of that---

I know that Oneida updated the Dust Deputy, and for older ones they sent out retrofit parts. I have those parts but have yet to add them to the system

Ok, so Oneida got back to me and their UDD supposedly includes the necessary elbow for use on the top.  It adds two inches to the 30.5" height of an assembled UDD.  This would fit under the MFT3.  But it wouldn't fit if I put the UDD on a SYS-CART as those add about 5.5" under whatever's on them.

I'm still thinking of ways to effectively put things under the MFT and still allow for moving it without a lot of hassle.  At the present I need to move things around a bit as tasks require.  That and I haven't finalized how I'm going to lay out the workshop.  So being able to use things with some degree of movability is helpful.  Thus tucking systainers and the CT26 under the MFT has been convenient, except for the MFT itself not being easily wheeled around.

This idea by Carl Holmgren has me thinking a bit:

Ok, so a UDD with their elbow fits underneath an MFT3.  There's about an inch to spare above it.  There's not enough clearance to slide out from the the side rails, but once it's under there's enough room to move it around a bit.

I also confirmed it won't fit if it's on a SYS-CART.  That and the new SYS-CART (gray) is about 1/2" taller than the previous black model.

I'm going to look into using something like these low-profile casters on a sled for it.

But I'd like to find some that swivel.

Here's CT22/UDD next to my Bandsaw and workbench.  All of the parts and hoses are anti-static (provided by Oneida as a free upgrade).  It sure is handy when used with my Leigh Dovetail jig and dust attachment when making a lot of drawers with a whole lot of dust/chips.
