Well, a month into the Festool program (about 1 day actually) I realized the importance of sleeving up the dust collection hose.  After tons of research and a lot of looking around I found the solution that was right for me.  I ordered it up from cableorganizer.com and should have it by week's end.  Almost forgot to mention...I let my daughter pick the color.

What size did you get? I found  1 1/4 worked for the 27mm hose but I needed 1 1/2 for the 36mm hose.

I read a few different things, but ultimately went with 1 1/4" for my 36mm hose.  We'll see how that plays.

At least you will be able to find it easily!  :o

Or maybe completely overlook it, since it is so out of place  [eek]

Sleeving the hose allows you to make the hose and power cord a single unit. It also cuts down on the hose ridges catching on the edge of your work or MFT table.

I hate it when the computer auto corrects my writing. Sleeving became sleeping thanks to Mac's intervention. But the responses were funny.

I just ordered some as well, but in neon red. :)

Mostly because I only have one 16AWG PlugIt cable left and want to keep it alive and $27 is cheaper than $44. Though the plug ends might burn out first...but eh...we'll cross that bridge if necessary.

Sae, do you mean 16 gauge? My plug it cords are only 16and18 guage. I've never gotten a 14 guage one. I think that's the case. I'm out of town and can't check right now.

Heh, yeah, sorry! 14AWG would be pretty stiff! Edited for posterity.

Wouldn't this sleeve induce static? Which is what we're trying to avoid.

I've seen none with mine.  I also use heat-shrink tubing to keep the ends of the sleeving from unravelling.

It's on the outside.  Static buildup is generated internally from the material and air traveling through the tubing.  Anti-static hose is hose made out of conductive material which prevents the buildup.  Adding a sleeve around the outside of anti-static hose won't change its ability to conduct.  Shouldn't be a problem.  ;)

Well...I think I nailed it.  Sleeve fit great, not to mention it looks outstanding.  1 1/4" sleeve on a 36mm hose.

What type of wrap did you buy from cableorganizer.com?

Thanks.
