Mathew,

How about working a way to put the date of the first  post of a thread on the topic page?  I often try to remember if a topic is old or new when deciding wether to go to the last post or just start at the beginning.

semenza,
Perhaps this is possible...
Can you say a bit more about how youi'd like to see this work?
Thanks,
Matthew

Hi,

Maybe it could be fit in with the thread starters name in the "Started By" column?  Sort of like the date that shows in the "Last Post by" column.  Even if the type size was very small so as not to end up making the posters name too small.  That way when looking at a list of subject threads or when using the "Recent Unread Posts" feature. It would be easy to tell if the thread is an old one being revived or a new one. Many threads have similar titals. When a thread has more than about ten replies I like to pop to the last post if it is an older one that I have already read through. Otherwise I start at the beggining.  Hope that makes sense.

That's funny, I always automatically go to the last post, and only go back to the beginning if I don't remember the thread. Do you visit Lifehacker by any chance Seth?

Hi,

I was just thinking about a feature on another forum I visit....  it would be more useful than the original post date. In addition to the ability to go to the Last Post, there is also the Ability to go to the First Unread Post in a thread. That way you get immediatly to the spot you last looked at without any scrolling or page changing.

Seth--

That's the way "Show unread posts since last visit" works for me now.
