OSC 18 (Cordless Vecturo) Feedback

The 18v Supercuts I have, and the previous models give mains equivalent power, and good battery life, using 4ah and 5ah batteries. It’s one of the attractions for me.

I would imagine the OSC Vecturo is the same, as it has the same motor.

Yea I really like the idea of integrating dust extractor. My fein got awfully smoky cutting oak flooring and pretty much anything. I guess Move the vecturo up my list. Rip my wallet lol appreciate the feedback

Voltage sag ain't no old wives' tale. ...  It's different with every tool.

Words of wisdom.

Just an update, I’ve been using the OSC 18 A LOT the past two weeks.  Removed paint, concrete sealant, crack fix sealant, liquid nails, tree suckers, window sealant...you name it.  Life used to be about routers and sanders, but now it’s about sabre saws and rotary hammers.  I digress.  One session involved the Bosch scraper blade getting so hot it flew off it’s welds (or however it’s attached to the starlock part).  Meanwhile fein scraper blades lost about three fourths their length so far. :0  This tools is such a pleasure to use and I haven’t reached for the corded multimaster ever since the OSC 18 purchase.  I’ve triggered the motor protection a few times and could feel and hear it stalling for microsecond beforehand.  Alas, I was also leaning on it really hard.  Coupled with the 6.2 ah batteries, it’s really smooth and the runtime is more than adequate.  I love it.

[member=19475]yetihunter[/member]  Thanks for giving us an update on your OSC 18 usage.  I have been thinking about getting one to use finishing the inside of a large out building I am working on presently.  Your review probably put me over the top.

Buy it, you won’t be sorry.  Skip the battery kit and buy bigger batts and an sca8 separately.  I’m running the not Bluetooth 6.2 ah batts with it  I’m positively thrilled with the concept of Fein tools under a Festool warranty so I’m going to also grab the grinder when I 30-Day return window the tid18.

Spent a day helping my son fix up his house. Took a bunch of tools (he was impressed with the stacking systainers and tool caddy).

Most used was the OSC 18. I hadn't used it that much before, but in doing renovations where you're not sure what problems you are going to come up against, it kept solving problems all day.

Attachments used
Fein scraper - removes old glue etc from skirting boards like butter. One blade lasted all day easily with no sign of stress on it.
Festool wood blades various - really effective when you learn the technique of making sure sawdust doesn't clog the cut,
Festool metal blade - cuts old copper pipes like they are cardboard, went through old clout nails readily.
Bosch uni blade - destroyed itself in minutes.
Festool uni blade - great at removing boards and architrave when there are hidden nails etc. One blade all day after ditching the bosch.
Fein sanding accessory set - very effective at removing old paint from details and other touching up. Not a sander but really useful when needed.

Two 5A batteries got me through the day. No vibration, no aches. Noisy of course!

Definitely a great "multi-tool"

I picked it up the kit, sans battery and charger.  It's the good stuff.  ...  The one thing that disapointed me most is the lack of any sort of dust extraction accessory for delta sanding pads.  Festool probably presumes that it's Vecturo customers already have a DTS or a Deltex or a RO90, and Festool is probably correct.  However, I sold mine, and I'm cheapskate sanding them fine details. The fein dust collection attachment works but is really...erm..how do you say...cheap and flimsy on the MM and on the Vecturo, you're gonna need a few rubberbands.  [big grin]  The one nice thing on the cordless Bosch I have is that it's dust collection attachment for sanding is actually quite serviceable.  No complaints.  It also likes to spit batteries out the back, so, whatever dude.    Anyway, I'm satisfied.

I know this is a bit of an old thread but... There is a new Fein Dust collection attachment (Fein Part Number 9 26 02 102 00 0) which is designed to attach to the Multimaster QSL and Supercut QSL via the two screws behind the blade attachment.  This also means that (in the same way that the Festool accessories can be used on the Multimaster/Supercut) it can be attached to the Festool OSC 18.  If you have the accessory attchement on the OSC 18 in place then you wil need to remove that and attach the Fein dust extractor but it works perfectly. Very happy as any delta pad sanding I do tends to get done with the Multitool.

Interestingly, on the packaging for this new Fein dust extractor accessory, the Festool OSC 18 is listed as one of the compatible tools.

I have the Fein 350 multi master I think it takes part number FEIN 92602091000 Dust Extraction Set for FMM 350Q/QSL. Is the extractor available by itself without the sanding pads and I wonder if the delta sandpaper is compatible with the fein sanding pad? Otherwise I’m thinking I can change out to a Festool sanding pad.

Festool has never offered a sanding pad for either the corded or cordless Vecturo.

I believe [member=61712]six-point socket II[/member] has the correct dust collecting Fein accessory for sanding with Starlock units.
