OSHLUN Blade for ts 55

Since I have the TS75 it doesn't really matter to me,... but I am curious as to how good a $20 blade can be.

So it is not like someone is 'dumping' them at half price or something

For those that care this is the link for what they have for the TS75. Not quite 1/3 the cost of the same tooth count as a Festool. Can't help but wonder if it is really only 1/3 (or less) as good[scratch chin]

ok, let's remember that festool is just way higher priced over any other company and it's not always that we get what we pay for with Festool blades or even some accessories, my tenryu blade cuts circles around my festool blade on my kapex, the cuts are cleaner, quiter, smoother and it was $40 dollars less then the festool.  I'm about to get a couple of these and test it out, even if it's not going to last as long as a festool blade for 20$ a pop i can get 3 of them and it wont hurt as much when i happen to run through a screw or a nail with it.

I paid 20 bucks more then festool's blades, for my tenryu.
Still have not used it,  my matsushita is so nice.

Don't mean to wake a dead thread, but any thoughts from the guys that were going to buy an Oshlun? Nobody ever mentioned how it turned out...

I suppose no-one took the plunge and tried it out, or did then thought it too poor to write up about  [eek]
Or maybe feel ashamed at spending so little on a good blade and want to keep it a secret from others ;D after all if it gets popular the price will increase [wink].

I felt like it was a good question. I've had my ts55 a month now, and started looking into blades beyond the stock Festool. It has served me well leaving finish/joint ready cuts on plywood, but what I'm interested in cutting is expanding. Local Tenryu distributor has the 28 tooth on the way for me, but there's still a huge difference between 40 with tax and 20 with free shipping. The Oshlun seems like a good choice if you're going to take risks with the blade.

I tried a few small diameter blades that have 20mm arbor holes. A Freau Avanti that was okay and a Freud Diablo that is fantastic. I also tried an Oshlun and it was horrible. I know that doesn't really say anything about the bigger blades but I don't plan to buy one. I will get another little Diablo.
