Other uses for a RAS

I am intrigued by the RAS, but almost everything that I see about it is that it is used for coping.  Aside from Coping what other uses does it have.  I currently have a Rotex 150 for stripping and stock removal, how much better is the RAS or easier is it to use.

Odd, I see less about using it for coping and more for stripping surface finishes and scribing instead of using a belt sander.

RAS is MUCH more aggressive. After RAS-115, RO-150 or RO-125 look like gently toys. I love all of them, but they have different niches. Take varnished board, bring it to Festool dealer and try RAS-115 and RO-150
