Family and I are out at the Tetons (don't laugh Frenchmen) and there are a lot of cool timber buildings and quite a few "modern rustic" as well. I will be back in a week!  Been here almost 3 so far!!

Cheers. Bryan.

I don't know if you're on the east or west side of the mountains, but there are certainly a lot of amazing timberframe and log structures between Jackson and Bozeman on the Yellowstone side.  Anyone interested in architecture should make a pilgrimage to the Old Faithful Inn.  It is a herculean feat of woodworking.

We were travelling through Yellowstone in 1974(I think) when an earthquake hit. I had yelled at the kids to stop jumping around in the back seat but it wasn't them, it was the ground shaking the car. A boulder fell off the side of the miuntain and crushed a trailer just in front of us. When we got to the Old Faithful Inn there were cracks with steam coming out of the walkways. A young fellow from California was working there and he said it felt like being back home  in California. The old Inn presumably swayed quite a bit but the structure was not damaged. It is a gorgeous building!!
