Starting to move the "old" stuff now - having memories of old tools [sad]

Air tools I've never used, the old faithful Hitachi insane planer (92mm cut, with speeds of off or crazy), well used Hitachi cordless drills and a Bosch mains drill I'd forgotten I'd even bought!

What do people do with their old screwdrivers, chisels, spanners, pliers, etc. They're hardly worth the bother of selling, but the thought of throwing them away seems crazy [eek]

It's true, final proof, everything is upside down in Oz.  ;)

Looks fine to me .... not [embarassed]

Oh well, as long as I'm only being judged horribly on it [crying]

I donate my tools. This is stateside http://www.toolsforopportunity.org/howtohelp.html

I would find a local school or other organization that wants/needs them.

I tried to donate two leather recliners a while back to our local charity pickup and they said they weren't good enough ... we have really picky charities here! Don't know of a local mob that would benefit from old tools. May just let them fall into the garage sale my wife keeps threatening to have.

I'll take them Kev,I will give them a good home

Hey Locky, if you want some old tools they're yours (sorting through stuff over the next few days) - you may be able to sharpen or tidy the odd pearl. I was pulling out everything old thinking "how many cantilever tool boxes do I need for all this stuff?" when I realised I don't ever use some of it!

I do have a couple of big old sash clamps that'd probably do you a good turn too.

I have previously donated hand tools to a school in the Solomon Islands.  I was particularly struck by the lack of tools availabe.  Prior to recent donations only the teacher had a set of woodwork tools.

I just replaced all of my tools this year with Festool also,I also realised they werent worth selling since they are only worth penny's on the dollar.I just found a spot in the shop for them to rest.I figured if I have a problem with one of my festools and need to send it back ,I will have a back up for a few day's if needed. Also,if a friend or neighbor want's to come over and borrow a tool, they can take one of my old ones, they aren't getting the Festools! [smile]

Borrow a Festool ??  [eek] [scared]

... no way - you can have the kids, but not any of the Festools [wink]

On another board I also offered them for free. Some I paid to ship just so they don't end up as Esty art.
