Inca made a radial arm saw (with a nice quiet induction motor) and they also made a router mounting plate that could be swapped for the motor.

I know Craftsman used to sell an adapter for their RAS to mount a router. Not saying it was any good, never saw one myself. The also had a 1/4 collet you could mount on the outboard shaft end of the RAS motor (with the blade removed of course) and do some low-speed routing or use a surface planer attachment they offered. Neither sounds very safe of practical to me, but they had it in the accessory line up.
I have often wondered if it would be worth the trouble to find a used RAS in good condition (or convert the one I have), remove the RAS motor, and install a mounting plate for a mid-size router.
You would then have elevation, angle, and bevel control.

I started this thread for the guy looking to buy. Couldn’t tell if he was aware of the Inca version which I have and works well as it has the features mentioned above.

I have an early to mid 70's Dewalt RAS that has a surfacer, molder and jig saw attachments. It can also be setup as a router but I don't have that attachment. Never used any of these attachments before especially the molding head as it's probably over 2# of steel and it would be rotating at 3500 rpm. [eek]
