Overhead cable

Was thinking about installing an overhead cable from one wall to another with a turnbuckle to tighten it and building a few hooks that I could loop dust extractor cable over.  This would keep me from tripping on the cable on the floor or at least help.

Anyone done this?

I recently installed additional powerpoints in my workshop so that I could plug in my vac to the closest point.
Tripping over that wire gets very annoying very quickly.

My boom arm has been wonderful!  I no longer trip over or step on the power cord or DC hose when I'm routing.  I like the idea of using a track overhead for a power outlet, though.

Great ideas. That track is the same I use in my closets !

I need to span a greater distance though. Was thinking about  20'.  Would be nice to have a cable at the ceiling and then hooks to loop stuff overhead when I use my 7 m hose.

As far as power its in my immediate plans to ad power drops at about 6.5 ' around the shop. Basically SO cord connected to turn lock plugs.  I need them badly at my center island
