It is the piece you can slide in either side of your saw for making small straight rips.

I used the search function but, found nothing.

Anyone have this?  It's only 49 bucks, seems pretty cheap.  I could see using it to rip Azek, Miratec, or other 1x trim boards.  Even ripping dimensional lumber down.

So, for about 50 bucks, anyone use this?  Seems like a cheap item to help rid myself of dragging a portable table saw around.

Could you make real narrow rips with it?  I guess it depends what side oyu would cut from huh?

I've got one.  It's a bit dicey for rip cuts in anything other than sheet goods.  I thought that I would try it for fillers, etc.  The problem is that it tends to weeble - wobble on narrow boards ( less than the saw's base  5-6"?? or so) . Still better off with the table saw or mft set up.  ( or soon here CMS, I hope)

That does not give you a very big piece off of sheet goods either.

I wondered about the saw wondering without the rail to keep it straight.

Seems like a good idea in theroy.  I guess I will put that 50 bucks towards the parallel guide set-up.

I have one, but have yet to use it in anger.

Interestingly the graphic that is in the box shows it being used conventionally (running over the edge of the work-piece) on the right hand side of the saw, and upside down on the left hand side, where it runs flush with the surface one is working on.  If anyone can enlighten me as to why I'd want to do that I'd be grateful.

Like everything Festool it is very nicely made.  Furthermore, it runs the full length of the saw, and is located at front and back, which makes it more rigid than other fences I have seen.

I'm not a fan of using a circular saw 'off the rails', but think this is as good as it gets.
