Parallel Guide

I have the 55" and 106" rails. Are these long enough to use with the parallel guide to breakdown 4'x8' sheets?

The 55 will work pretty well, but the 106 is really too short for happy length cutting with the parallel guides.  In a thread a few months ago, a member bought another 55 or something close to it and cut off a couple of 10" pieces and used the connectors.  The happy thing about this (brilliant actually) is that the remaining 35" or so segment is a wonderful little guide to have around for all kinds of things and never bumps into anything.

That's not good to hear, I heard the 2700mm was the way to go unless you had a ts75?
Or is there something about using the parallel guides that require the longer 3000mm?

(I get confused going back and forth from imperial to metric, better get used to it I guess lol)

If you have a 2700mm rail, you can cut 8 foot long sheet goods, but you'll be doing it in such a way that either the saw will have to be plunged directly into the material at the start of the cut or the saw will be able to start off of the material (which is better) and the saw will therefore end the cut while still on the material because the length of the 2700mm rail is 8 feet 10 5/16 inches and the TS55 needs approximately 10 inches of rail length before and after the cut to stay on the rail with the gibs (cams) tight to the rail hat.  You also won't be able to do long diagonal cuts if that's something you might need to do.

The TS75 definitely needs the 3000mm rail since its base is longer than the TS55's.

Well, if you've already got the 2700mm guide rail, like I do, you're making your way fine with a little extra care.  If you don't have the 2700mm rail, then FWIW, and IMO, the 3000mm rail is worth the extra money in not having to be so precise when you set it up to cut an 8' sheet lengthwise.

I'm glad my supplier let me trade in the 2700mm for the 3000mm, I like the extra overlap on both sides, makes for a nice clean cut.  Yup.
