I'm thinking about ordering a Parf Guide System. I just want to be sure I understand the difference between the original and the Mk II. Axminster is out of stock on the Mk II and it is $45 more than the original...I don't mind the $45 as much as the out of stock. If there's good reason, I will wait.

If I am reading everything right, the difference is that the rulers have extra holes in them to make it easier to locate intermediate holes and the drill bits have Centrotec shanks. Are there more differences? Those two aren't reason enough to wait, I don't think.

How valuable do others here find intermediate holes?

It appears I've answered my own question...or more accurately, Peter has already answered it.

Details on the differences between the two versions.

I'm waiting until the Mk II is back in stock.

I'm inclined to wait as well. The other template systems I'm seeing don't include bits or bearing guides. With the Parf kit I'll end up with some parts I can see myself using.

I see they have updated the Mark 1 system.  I was wondering if the sticks now have the extra holes like the Mark2???

I'd wait. The upgrades are worthwhile, and I suspect the only reason for them to have the MkI would be unsold ancient stock (but I have no insider knowledge of this).

If you email them they'll be able to give you an idea of lead time to restocking - I got 26 weeks for a replacement lock nut for my UJK router bushes, so it may be significant!

I had been contemplating the same and ended up getting a Mk II from the latest batch. Honestly: I do not regret the long wait, the $45 extra was money well spent.

The reason I asked is I have the Mark 1 and I haven't had any problems whatsoever, but was wondering about getting an extra set of rulers.  Its a much simpler system than the Mark 2 and I like that.  I watched a few videos guys made and they were not using the jig properly, so they tried to make it idiot proof.  I don't believe that will ever happen with a tool.
I'll contact Axminster about the sticks when I have the extra funds.  I wish Lee Valley would stock more of the UJK accessories.

This picture looks like they made some upgrades to the Mark 1.https://www.axminstertools.com/glob...ide-system-102278?glCountry=CA&glCurrency=CAD
