Paul-Marcel

Just going to ditto the compliments and comments that Paul so well deserves.

Videos are to the point as well as entertaining - not an easy feat to accomplish.

Tu salute, Paul!

Bob

Yes, highly informative, highly entertaining, and alot of fun to experience some of the same stuff he runs into with a 'new-to-him' tool or process.
Funny, we haven't heard from Megan Fox about Paul yet..... [scratch chin]

LOL.  Thanks for reminding me of the Megan Fox / Paul Marcel scandal.  To quote PM (if I may):

"No wife... but if lil Miss Megan would want to give it a go..."

lil Miss Megan

Hey PM this is the internet - some things just never go away.  Don't blame me, leakyroof brought it up.

Wow, Internet doesn't forget! :)  I'm okay with that...

And thanks again to all of you for the kind words

Yea I have to agree.  Paul has made things "click" for me more than anyone else.

Course he has cost me some money too.  Not sure I like him as much for that !

Oh man, he has cost me $$ too. :-)

I know most have said it in jest, but Paul (and for that matter Peter) have not cost us any money.

What they have done is help many of us maximise the return on our investment, be it a commercial return or one of pleasure from increased skill and new ways to utilise a tool.

I first became aware of Paul when as a new member of the FOG I asked some questions regarding the Domino learning curve. Paul responded and provided some links to his works. Consequently my transition to dominos was greatly assisted.

[smile]

It has been a very entertaining, along with learning experience watching Paul marvel's vids.  It is not every teacher who can show you how with such a subtle sense of humor.  He emits a sense of enjoyment in what he does.  I like to thing he has never worked a day in his life  >>> at least while in his shop  >>> and showing us all.
Tinker

BTW:  Others have mentioned Peter Parfit.  I get the same feeling of enjoyment in watching his vids.

There are few people who can thru their presentations educate and then also exude somehow the sense that "If I can do it - so can you".  That is a true gift.  Paul Marcel is one who in my opinion possesses that.

Please he is a genuinely nice guy.  In one of his videos just after he received his Fogtainers he prominently positioned them to be included in the video as a tribute to all the activity and collaboration here on that project.

-whew- saw my name as a thread title and thought, "what did I do now!?" haha!

Thanks for the compliments from all of you.  Work went into a tailspin since the beginning of the year so only marginally went to the shop (after all, the beer fridge is located there  [tongue]).  Things are easing up so I hope to get my pending projects wrapped up and some other how-to videos, like one specifically on what Len asked me about in email.

That means I have to go dig up the awesome shirt from the Domino crib-sheet series!  If you listen carefully, you can hear it it is so loud :)

P.S., thanks, too, to the FOGgers and readers who wrote me wondering if I got hit by a zamboni cuz of the disappearance.

I thought you were high sticked ?

Hey how much you pay these folks to write those things about you?

Sorry bud, couldnt resist, but you had to know it was coming  [big grin]

Ditto here.  I've learned a lot from Paul's site and videos.  Also, when I needed an answer to a question, I emailed him and he promptly wrote back with his answer.  He is great for woodworking.

I'm waiting for 50 to chime in so I can get a volume discount :)

No, seriously, thanks for all the kind words.

Peter Parffit is also a very active video guy; fortunately for us in the US, we get his NAINA reviews and other products as well. All helps keep the wallets thinner helping our collective seating posture :)

Given the board title, I'm still trying to figure out whether Paul-Marcel is a 'tool' or an 'accessory'... [big grin]

Regardless, he helped me out by shipping some Qwas dogs to me before Steve was posting internationally, and was one of the first FOGgers I interacted with away from the forum. Ace guy. Well deserved reputation.

Paul is Paul as all have said in their own positive ways.  [smile]

If you want to give him a label then out of these two definatly an 'accessory' because down here Garry labelling or calling a person a 'tool' has very negative connotations and possible repercussions. [eek]

Unless said in jest!  [big grin]

Paul Marcel (and the others mentioned like him) is a generous contributor to the global wealth and success of Festool worldwide. With the enthusiastic reviews I've seen from owners of the tools, I've been confident in investing heavily in Festool. I'm guessing I'm not unique in this.

You can't buy the sort of advertising that enthusiasts are providing free!

I feel slightly embarrassed joining this thread as I see my name coming up too but...

When I was doing my market research, in the months before buying my first Festool tool, I watched loads of Paul's videos and I found them to be a great help. After becoming hooked on the brand I have had numerous exchanges of email with Paul and he has always been able to answer my various questions.

Paul deserves all of the kind and thoughtful comments posted here.

I am hoping that the two of us might be able to get together in 2016.

If my vote was worth anything, I'd put it to towards yourself and Paul Marcel getting a US, Euro combo Festool red carpet trip. Normally I'd be jealous of something like that, but I think the dedication to the brand you guys show deserves something like that!

I met Paul-Marcel and several other Festoolers and hand tool affectionados at WIA in Pasadena in 2012.  We even exchanged wines and ate Sushi with John Economaki.  Great time with great company!  And that Festool Beer Stein review is an all-time classic!  [blink]  [big grin]

I appreciate his passion which leads him to find out everything there is to know about a subject before filming and ability to present them in a clear and entertaining way.  Also, he's a great host and cook, too.

His are the only videos I watch (well, the only woodworking videos I watch).

Ha ha ha!  That was awesome!  I laughed hard at that one!
