This place has been a serious goldmine for ideas and feedback recently, so thank you all for posting your stuff here. Just spent the last 2 weeks tooling up for another cabinet job, client is gone for 3 months so I'm turning their garage into a little cabinet shop while they're gone to do the work.
Built my version of a Paulk workbench (I watched his video series and then came up with my own measurements and drawings and built this one, feel like I should probably send the guy a little donation). Exchanged his design of using the pipe/wood combo to mount the table saw for my own idea of an adjustable height mounting solution - allowed me to play around with the dark art of fusing metal with electricity, which is always fun. Don't judge, I know my welding sucks. (Actually, go ahead and judge)
Height is adjustable with wing nuts welded onto threaded rod against a base plate, and washers shim the "camber." It all locks into place with carriage bolts and those coupling/wing nut monstrosities. Somehow, it totally works! Fairly easy on/off too.
Found somewhere the idea to modify the Irwin clamps into the table clamps, few minutes with the grinder and welder made short and very functional work of that. 4 clamps for the price of one Fes clamp
I've now only gotten to use this thing to then build a miter saw table/fence extension for the chopsaw, and wow. Makes doing everything SO MUCH EASIER!!!
My idea for adjustable miter saw fence is goofy and came to me in the hardware store isle, and still needs more work to be complete, but preliminarily works well. 3/4" threaded rod into coupling nuts welded to plate washers and skewed out on a compound angle with little metal shims.Thinking about adapting some swively ladder feet to the bottom of the rods.
Built a swiveling boom arm for the vacuum hose with 1/2" black iron pipe, left the top arm loosely connected at the 90º and with teflon tape it swivels to follow the track saw/sander. Poor man's solution but works incredibly well!
