If this had a canister to empty, rather than a consumable bag, I'd buy one in a heartbeat.  Otherwise, why bother?  The "smaller" vacs are basically the exact same thing, with slightly smaller capacity.  I don't see why you'd want to buy this over say, a CT 26 with a systainer dust deputy-majigger and be roughly the same dimensions, same suction, and no more bags to worry about.

No-one knew anything about the 48 litre vacs until they turned up in the new US catalogue, so yes, they will be!

Not sure I need the capacity but I sure like the design and styling better than the new ones with the hose garage.

I thought I must have been the only one who wished the top of the 26 was like the top of the 22.  For me, the 26 is harder to get in the van, (it goes up on a shelf) and the switch is harder reach (under the hose garage lip), and now with the systainer 5 on top, it is taller than my 36" work table that I sometimes used to park the 22 underneath.  Also the cord storage notch will not reliably hold the cord like the 22 would.  The other improvements make it worth using though and the 22 now fills a need in my shop.  Loading the 26 with a full bag of mdf dust is a real pain lol.

I've never noticed an issue with the cord holder.  But I've never used a CT22 or 36 before either.

If you go to these links using the Google Chrome browser, it will detect that it's in Romanian and ask you if you want it to translate it to English (in my case), and then well do it in-line on the page. very slick.

I translated the page using google translate, and saw a line about the motor being one of the EC-TEC ones that the drills use.  Do the CT 26 or 36 have this type of motor in them?

I think the black one looks ugly, but after examining the Romanian Festool page it look like it's all about functionality.

The page says: "Se poate folosi pentru aspirare praf combustibil si sau exploziv din clasele cu risc de explozie St1, St2, St3, in zona 22"

Which means in English: "Dust can be used for fuel or explosive and explosive class ST1, ST2, ST3, in Zone 22" According to Google translate.

So the black plastic is a special plastic that can withstand corrosive materials. Seems the B in B22 stands for black and the 22 for the name of some officially named hazard zone, in whatever country that applies.

Just got a look at the re-instated PDF cat (thanks Shane!) & it lists the CT48 as being 1005mm high - that must surely be a typo...

Looks like the pics in my first post are of different 48 litre vacs than the one that will be available in the States later in the year - that one does have the hose garage.

New to the FOG and read this one. Went to the links and I did translate them.
Install Google tool bar in Internet Explorer. It has a translation funtion. It actually did quite well.
