Hi,

I have had my HL 850 EB planer for quite a while now, and everything about it is top notch, easily one of my best tools!!  Yesterday it suddenly stopped working while I was rebating.  I'm convinced it is the brushes as I have treated it very well and it tells me in the manual that it has a fail safe stop when the brushes are worn.

My question is:    Does anyone here know a supplier for festool planer brushes.......internet or otherwise?? (I live in the south east)

Your help would be very much appreciated!!

Pete

PS: Sorry forgot to say, I live in the UK!

Pete, call Festool's service dept., 1-800-554-8741. This number is printed on almost every tool to make contacting Festool easy. They will take care of you.

Is that a U.S number?

I have tried the London supplier that is listed in the intruction manual, but the number isnt in use anymore.  I think I have had the planer for at least 6 yrs.

but thanks for the reply    :)

Yes it is, sorry. We have to do something about the growing "location" issue.

Ah, the location issue...

When people sign up for the forum, they have the option of entering a geographic location in their profile.  At present, I'm not able to require it.

However, a new version of the forum software is about to be released that will allow me to require people to enter certain information.  When I install that new version, I will require people at least enter their country.  I agree that, because this forum is international, location is really important.

For now, what we can do is encourage everyone to edit their profiles to include their location.

Stay in touch,
Matthew
