Planex on Exterior Siding

Hello - this if my first ever post -

Has anyone had any experience using the Planex on exterior wood siding?  Is it powerful enough?  Or could it damage the sander?  My neighbor has a small garage that he wants me to paint.  I was considering using the planex to sand it down first.  The siding is flat boards.  What grit would I use?  I'm not much of a painter (which I told him that - yet he still wants me to do it).

On a side note - are there any other uses for the Planex other than Drywall sanding?  Has anyone done anything other than drywall with it?  I did my first small drywall project with mine today.  It really worked awesome.  The project was in an office which held art supplies so it was really nice to be dust free.

I've only had the planex for a week or so.  My only concern at this point is changing the bag.  I really like how the other models (such as my CT26) have a full bag... this CT36 AC has an open top plastic bag.  I'm hoping that changing the bag out isn't a messy job.

Thanks!
Ryan

Be gentle changing the bag, do it outside. The 36AC will take a standard bag.

I've sanded decks, and a few projects with my Planex.

Are you trying to strip the garage or just smooth it out?

Welcome! [smile]

I've used it to sand small areas of hardwood floor to prep for finishing.

How wide are the boards? Dust collection for anything much less then the diameter of the Planex will suffer.
