Dear Festool, the AH-ES-ETS-ETSC Edge Sanding Guide is a great piece of kit. What would make it even better, would be an optional hard backing pad for the ETS and ETSC 125 sanders.
E.
I would argue that the hard pad should be default for the ES-ETS and ES-ETSC bundles sold in Europe.
Case in point:
I considered "hacking" the RO 125 pad (492127) on a CNC to be able to screw it on the ETS 125 once I get the guide.
Need to take a precise weight with me to the shop some time to check the weight sufficiently matches the ETS 125 pads to avoid vibrations. If it does, I am a go for that. Thanks for the reminder. I need to do that.
I was surprised they don't make one. I thought I was searching wrong when I went to find it.
For the edge attachment, I married it with my RTS 400. It does a good job of keeping flat with that accessory. I just can't get along with the RTS 400 elsewhere it leaves heavy scratch patterns that I have to clean up with the ETS so I don't use it much.
Has anyone chucked up a 6” hard pad on a lathe and turned it down to 5”? You’re only removing 1/2” on each side. I just wonder if it cuts into the vacuum porting paths ?

I learn something new everyday with Festool. I didn't know there wasn't a Hard Pad for the ETS 125, since I have one for my EC 150 sander and thought, surely, there's one for the little ETS / Pro 5 after reading this thread... nope.... [doh] [doh]

Unfortunately, the ETS(C) 125 use a different mount to any of the 6" pads. The best one can hope is adapting some of the other 125 pads, be they from Festool or other vendors.
