Everyone,
All of you who have albums in the Gallery, can you please run a quick test for me?

Go into the forum Gallery and confirm that you can see and run the "Upload" and "Java Upload" options.  You don't have to actually upload anything -- just confirm that these options are visible and available.  Then please report back here.

The screen shot below illustrates what I'm talking about (options in question are circled in red):

Thanks,
Matthew

I tested both to upload. They both work
I my case the menu is even in Dutch. :D

Matthew,

I do NOT see those buttons.  I tried this on multiple computers, and both IE and FF2.  That includes my work computer and my home computers.  And I tried clearing cache, restarting the browsers, and rebooting the computers.

Here's what I see as Dan Clark:

Here's what I see as Test:

Regards,

Dan.

p.s. It's really, really tough bein' the Image Sheriff if you can't post pics.

Matthew, I see both options.  In case it makes a difference, I am running under Internet Explorer.

I'm experiencing the same as Dan - the two upload options are missing when I go into the gallery, both in MSIE7 and Firefox.

Actually, I noticed this a few days ago when I wanted to upload some photos, but didn't mention it at the time. I reckoned that it was a temporary glitch that would sort itself out, but as I still can't upload anything, it's more than a glitch!

There's one common denominator between Dan and I - we are both noted as "2008 FOG Supporter", whereas the members who can see the buttons don't have that notation. The last time I uploaded to the gallery successfully was the 21st April, and the donation system started on the 21st - I wonder if the upload problem is connected to the donation system?

Hmmm...  Maybe this is a new feature for FOG Supporters!  ;D

Dan.

Funny thing is that today i could upload pics to the gallery using both options "Upload file" and "Java upload"
where as before only the Java Upload would work

Everyone,
Hmm....I'm no database expert, but I just went on a hunch and tried something that I hope will fix the problem.
For those of you who had trouble, please go in and try the buttons again, then report back.

Matthew,

If you use the "Upload file" option while you are in your own album, you have an extra step to make as it will ask you in which album do you want to put your image. You then need to select your own album. The "Java upload" option will put the pic in you album without asking you to select that album.

Yes, I have those buttons.

I should clarify: Firefox 3.0b5 on Ubuntu 8.04 Linux. And, yes, I can click on both of them and get reasonable pages.

I just uploaded a couple of pics successfully. It is very clear and easy to do on Mac/Safari using the Upload file option, although there does seem to be a redundant "continue" requirement. I find the Java Upload option to be busy and confusing.

Still no upload buttons.

Qwas,
I know this might sound annoying, but can you clear your browser cache and restart your computer, then try again?
Everyone else who reported a problem, please report back.
Matthew

Still no upload buttons Matthew, cleared  the cache and even reset my mother board manually.
