Here is what I use in order to keep the hose above my work and manageable:

[drooling]

[thumbs up] [thumbs up] [thumbs up]

I bet Festool never thought of that! Genius [not worthy]

[scared]  OH MY LORD    [scared]

You ARE ingenious Frank!    [doh]  It's so simple it's crazy.

Frank,

With all the money you saved, I'll put you down for 5 more custom Fogtainers.  [big grin]

You ought to start a blog.  Thanks for posting your wisdom here.

Peter

I don't know, but it look as though you are at the end of your rope hose.  Looks to me that you either need a taller ladder or a longer hose for that setup to have enough slack in the hose to be useful.  Or, am I not seeing something?

There is about 130 centimetre's play in the hose on the bench.  That is enough for most tasks, but I certainly could make use of a longer hose.  One is on my Wish List.

Oh Frank---
The shame that must be felt by that poor vac. Held together with bungee cords and sky hooks. Bet the verbal abuse from the other Festools is unbearable!

Seriously, if I did that, the whole thing would end up crashing to the floor at some point after I knocked into it. Just replace the ladder with a suspended shelf.  ;D

I hope your vac doesn't fall  [scared].  If so, the boom arm would be a lot cheaper [wink]

Really doesn't matter how much the Festool Boom Arm costs for those with a Mini or Midi -- the Boom Arm only fits the larger CT extractors.

... and you may want a larger ladder to balance a CT too.   [scared]

Wonder if Festool will pull the opening post for safety purposes...  [unsure]              just kidding.

maybe festool should give frank a free ct-22 and a free boom arm!

that is the saddest looking vacuum i have ever seen frank. it looks very lonely up there all alone!

regards, justin.

If I remember correctly, Frank's dust collector isn't afraid of heights.  I believe that there is a picture around here when he was sanding his cabin that is more drastic.  Looked in his gallery but couldn't find it.

I also have a CT22 and I have used it on a ladder.  But, the Midi is a lot easier to lift up there.

It's actually a lot more secure than it looks.  Two bungee cords hold the vac quite securely to the ladder and the ladder is stable with rubber feat on a level wood floor.

Peter, I think that this is the picture that you recall and it's me on the ladder, not the vac:

[attachimg=#1]

There is another picture that I never posted here where both me and my CT22 vac are on ladders:

[attachimg=#2]

Frank,

You are the man.  You went out of your way to prove that although I can't remember what I had for breakfast 4 days ago, I can remember something that posted back when.  That photo was posted somewhere here.

Thanks,

Peter

That is too funny! Well done  [big grin]
Andreas, although it looks like I might have set this up as a joke, I really do work with this arrangement from time to time.

Anyway, I am glad that folks think it is funny.  I, too, think that it looks quite funny.  [big grin]

Aussies arent noted for their sense of humour, so please tell me those photos are set up just a for a joke.

Last two photos = (Potential) 3rd, maybe 4th places in the 2011 Darwin awards

[edit- first pic is funny. I know that one is a joke ;D ]
