Portable shop

I haven't pushed 50' of material through my table saw in 2 years. Everything else was cut with the TS.

I've gotta learn from you guys... I'm still wrapping my head around the TS system and keep wishing I had the old table saw to do narrow rips and other things table saws do well.
OTOH, I don't have to worry much about losing a digit with the TS...
Getting a bit quicker with experience but it isn't happening overnight.
However, I just did a few cuts in the shop space without the vac attached, it was parked on a jobsite, maybe ten feet of ply cutting, and lots of dust settled EVERYWHERE!
Like on my computer, 15 feet away, by the next morning.
It hit me all of a sudden- integrated dust collection WORKS$$$

Seth,

About how long does it take you to setup and tear down with the tools in the picture?

Not counting time to unload/ carry to or from my truck set up takes about ten minutes without rushing. Same for take down. I never timed it but it goes really fast, partly due to it being the same every time.  And the load / unload, carry time is short too, because of the Systainers uniformity of the system etc. Mostly it depends on the distance from the truck.

The other thing to keep in mind with that ten minutes  is that everything is ready to use at that point, with the exception of an individual power tool.  And even those are right there under the table handy but completely out of the way. All the other stuff all ready "out" . I don't have to pull the box out that has the screwdrivers open it and get the one I need. I just turn around and pick it up from the open Systainer lid. Or just open a drawer to get the glue, etc.

Step one... scope out the set up area, make a few quick decisions on where the various things will be placed. Move furniture, roll up rugs , whatever might need to be cleared from the space.

Step two.... bring everything in and place it near where it will be set up. In this case that was on the porch right outside the entry door behind the Kapex.

Step three ..... set up the stuff.

I sort of have "modules". EX- The Kapex , Kapex stand, Kapex vac, accessory Sys for Kapex is one "module".  These smaller groupings within the set up make it easy to arrange or rearrange and have everything in the right place.  This makes for less running around if the work area was bigger.

I bring everything in unless it is truly something I will not use for the job. That removes all the running  back to the truck to this or that item.

Seth what do you have your nail guns on? Can you post a pic. I have been thinking of doing some sort of holster like that.
