Hi everyone,

Was searching the forum before asking a question and didn't find nothing match to my problem.

Hope this going to be very useful for all Festool worktop/countertop jig owners

In the manual they giving us how to set up extension profile, what mark on the scale should point the arrow on the jig but doesnt say actual "Positioning of Festool worktop jig's bolt templates"

Did try many options, and will try until it will work.

Sure with help with people on this forum is going to be quicker

Sharing a picture what is happening to me...

Thanks

I am not sure what your question is, but your picture is showing the cutouts for draw bolts. Draw bolts are a method for joining flat sheets (plywood) tightly. There are different shapes. but they all work similarly, with a bolt drawing two nuts or plates tightly together.

Here's a couple of pictures I found on the internet....

Rick,

These type of bolts are used all the time for worktops here in Europe. I'm sure the OP knows what they are.

His question is about exactly where best to position the sliding parts of the Festool template in order that the cut-outs line up (horizontally). As you can see from his picture, they don't quite line up properly.

I'm not au fait with exactly how the Festool jig works, but I wouldn't think it would matter where you position them - just put them where you like, cut one half, then flip the jig over to do the other half. Whether you reference from the front edge or the back edge doesn't matter, as long as you reference them both the same.

I'm not familiar with the festool jig however I prefer to just draw a line across the worktops when they're in situ and just centre the jig on these lines by eye.

the few times iv used those  all I did was draw a few lines  where I wanted them. then line up the jig to one side of the line.
its a bit like using the domino it doesn't matter where the joint is once both sides are the same

Hi

This might help? (In german)

I have no experience with this jig but I guess the templates are movable along the MFS profile. Maybe yours need some adjustment?
