Possible T/CSX rival?

Anyone seen the new Bosch 12V-15 FC drill driver set? A smaller version of the larger flexiclick 18v set with the additional chucks (except the SDS).
Wondering when they were going to introduce it. About time as half my outfit is Bosch and it will be about 10% cheaper than a T/CSX.
Be interesting how they compare.
If its been mentioned on the forum recently I apologise been too and fro with work lately being Easter as well with so much on and no holls.

Anyway, I haven't seen it, because I live in the US, and Bosch has this recent unique
quality of not releasing any of their new cool stuff here.

I've seen it 2 weeks ago at an event at a dealer. I held it briefly and played with the heads a bit. The heads change a lot easier than the  fastfix heads on my C12. It felt nice in the hand, but it doesn't have a belt-clip. I didn't have a chance to use it, so I can't comment on that.

(I wasn't really interested in getting one because I don't have any L-boxes, and my C12 is still working fine, I actually wanted to see the 18V drill with the rotary hammer head, out of curiosity,  but they didn't have it with them).

I'm anxiously awaiting the US release said to be in May 2017.  I wish they were going to release the 18V version, however the 12V version should be fine for woodworking.  The specs that I recently saw now say it will have a 1/2" chuck which is welcome news.  I have Bosch routers and a jig saw and won't part with them.

This is 100% true...I emailed the Marketing Manager in the press release and he confirmed, yet did say it is being pushed back to the 3rd quarter of this year.  Very exciting as I really like Bosch's 12V lineup...very nicely made compact cordless line.

maybe you guys over the pond get lucky and the pushback of the release date means you'll be getting a brushless version. The GSR 12V-15 FC they released in Germany is based on the old, brushed variant...

I can't understand it, even more given the fact that changing from the brushed to a brushless version is literally a "5-minute-job" if you want to do it.

Since I own the older brushed model, I know it's not a bad drill/driver by any means - but with everything at their hands, Bosch could have easily made it a brushless model. Word is, it would have been a little to pricey for their click & go offerings....

I don't get it, but what do I know...

Oh, and speaking of being a rival to the T/CXS, I don't think so. The Bosch attachments are far bulkier than the Festool ones.

By "bulkier" do you mean because Festool's eccentric attachment is non-existent and is therefore less bulky than anything ?

I'd say the Jacobs chucks are pretty much a wash.

Certainly the Festool right angle one is less bulky AND lighter because it's an open design.  I wonder if that's a liability though because the gears in that bosch have got to be larger by extension ?  [unsure]

To me , it boils down to Centrotec.  Bosch can't touch that.  But if you don't utilize that system, which I suspect a vast majority if t/Cxs users don't, then the bosch is more functional at a lower price.  There's also the CXS form factor which many guys love.  Bosch can't compete there either. 

I'm guessing this thing will outsell TXS by at least 4 to 1.
