Dear FOG-comunity :)

For the last coupple of years, after picking up woodworking as a (rather intense) hobby, I have found just about a million answers in here. I am deeply impressed by all the research, testing, fantasy - and sharing. So… Thank you all.

Well, i think I am done purchasing tools for a few years. BUT, there is this one last thing. I am short on space, and until we moove out of town and I can purchase a cast iron saw, I will have to do with my festool CS 70. Great saw, but as quiet a few others I have my reservations on the LA fence. Nothing I can not live with, but what I really really wish is to be able to use the Jessem stock guides on it (I have the router version, and love them). I have also considered Houngdui guides, but even though I am Norwegian I do prefer american made.

I have though of building a kind of casinoet for the fence, and mounting the whole Jessem set up on top, but I would also live to know if it would be possible to attach only the brackets in the track on the LA.

Do; Does anyone have any know how on stock guides on the CS70?

Thank you in advance!

My best,
Lars, Norway

I have the guides on my cs70 and the are terrific. Like you, I had hoped use the track on the LA but I wound up putting the Jessem track on. It has been a while so I can’t remember exactly why they would not work as you would like but they didn’t. When I get a chance I will poke around to see what the issue was. I would not let that issue bother you anyway. They are a great addition to the fence and saw. Take a little time to determine how best to mount it. I drilled and tapped some holes and decided they were not where I needed them so I had to drill a few more. I’ll try to get you more info and a picture.

Dear Greg,

Great to get confirmed that it will work out - that makes it easier to pull the trigger. Thank you so much.

And yeah, if you are able to post a coupple of pictures, and maybe full in on how you did it, I would be very greatfull indeed! Hope you get back with it.

Meanwhile, take care!

Thanks

Lars
