Precisio CS 70 - Where does this wire go?

I purchased a used CS 70, and it was really just a heap of loose parts.

After putting things together the way I think is right I still can't figure out where to put the small white plug with three thin wires from the motor controller.

Any suggestions?

Maybe that's why it was in bits. Looks to me like the female JST could be missing from the little black box beside the copper in the foreground

Yes, that could be. Do you know what this cable is for?

There are no other sockets on the board or in any place close by.

The black box is a small component, so it's not supposed to have a socket as far as I can tell.

I'll try to open some covers to see where the other wires go. Maybe there's a socket there?

I take that back, the black stuff looks like epoxy so the female JST cant be missing from that board.

I haven't the foggiest what that does.

I don't think there should be a socket for it on the PCB. A cable form one point to another on a PCB would be a bit old fashioned I suppose. The PCB was invented to avoid cable mess.

Well now I just feel plain stupid. You are quite correct. Because I couldn't see the whole cable I just thought it was two separate cables  [embarassed]

I'll have a look on mine - where on the machine is this PCB?

Here's a link to the part list with exploded view of the saw. The PCB (or the brain of the saw) is at position 93.

Sorry for putting little effort into the photo in my first post. I'm quite confused myself.

My guess is they would be for a switch of some kind. Speed control maybe? Or safety switch of some kind? On-Off switch? There can't be too many places for it to go.

Of course! That's the cable for the speed control. No wonder my saw won't start.

At the moment I don't have the bottom cover with the speed control poti, so I have to order that part and a few other bits and pieces for the saw. Hopefully it will be up and running as soon as I get the poti mounted.

I think I will be ordering the parts from mtmc.co.uk. It seems they have everyting I need for a reasonable price.

Here are all the parts I need so far:

Not bad.

Shame you couldn't find one with a cooked motor going for next to nothing to use as a donor, then you would also have a whole bunch of other spare parts.

Good luck.

That would be something!

The only problem is that I live in Norway. We are only 5 million people, and as far as I know there are not too many Festools per capita.

I might find something on eBay though.
