Got a call this morning from the Canadian Festool rep and they have adjusted the Canadian prices due to the dollar. The new price on the TS 55 is $632.50 plus tax.

Best to call or e-mail for prices as it could take awhile for me to get the pricing up on the website.

All orders placed from Jan 1 till today will be adjusted with a credit.

Gotta get back to work

Wow Dan, you are way too fast! I was just about to post that myself. Happy New Year everyone, I'm sure these new prices will help with that.

That's good news.

Does it mean that the systainer prices will now match those recently announced by Lee Valley?  Maybe we have Lee Valley to thank for the fact that Festool finally woke up and noticed the larger than normal price gap.

So is the TS55 the only tool that gets this new price for you guys up North? Seems odd that the 55 is the only tool that is affected by the equality of the US and Canadian dollar.  [tongue]

All prices have changed and we are tweaking the site prices to match our invoicing software.

Go to Ultimate Tools to see the prices.

warning - we are still working on updating the prices so their may be some issues at this time

I missed it by a few days.... got it from Dan at the old higher price..  [sad]
However, it is a beautiful machine, no regrets!!! [smile]

Glad to see things are starting to balance out a bit. [big grin]

Still festool's price fixing burns my bottom a little. [mad]

You need the Festool Derriere Cooler Pad.  [scared]  Oh, sorry, still not available in North America perhaps. ;D

I know its crazy, but they're not the only company that does this, although a rarety in the retail tool category.  At least we know that Festool takes some of this pricing and plows it back into R&D, which is more than I can say for most other tool manufacturers.  You're paying for innovation, or at least that's what I try to tell myself when I look at the bill. :'(

Hey Kevin, it's good to see you posting here. [welcome]

And, even better to know that you finally took the Festool plunge after I have been bugging you about their tools for many years.

Got that right!  Our whole "free market" is a joke.

Indeed and it is worth it; thats why we're here.  After studying accounting and then electrical I decided to get another degree, in economics (part time at university)...so I've been on a bit of an economics kick. [embarassed]

Given the track record for yearly price increases in the spring, I'd move fast if I were you guys.

I'm sorry to learn that the price of systainers remians higher than that charged by Lee Valley.  For example

Systainer 1:                Festool:  $73.36      Lee Valley:    $62.00

Systainer 5:                Festool:  $101.13    Lee Valley:    $84.50

9 Drawer Sortainer:    Festool:  $159.87    Lee Valley:  $138.00

If I were a Canadain Festool dealer attempting to establish a little known product line in Canada and competing with a well known and respected company like Lee Valley, I would be quite upset with Festool.

Absolutely,  I will be the first to admit that the sale would have otherwise gone straight to Dan.  I realize it may sound harsh but a plastic container to me is nothing but a commodity and I will purchase it on the basis of price and convenience.  Not to mention if you feel a TANOS handle you will never look at a festool again.

I've placed an order for a Laguna LT16HD bandsaw and a Hammer A331 planer/jointer combo machine, both from canadian dealers. Final prices were pretty close if not on par with US prices (exchange rate taken in account of course). So why is Festool, also distributing european tools, not doing the same ? 5-10% over maybe, 25% not !

Cheers,

Alex

You got to look at the logistics part of it.

I would think the more dealers they establish the more the pricing will be same in north america.
