We know these are uncertain times for individuals and businesses. From the threat of COVID-19 to economic disruptions and uncertainties, we are responding quickly and maintaining our key priorities: first, to protect the people who count on us.

As we continue to prioritize the people who make Festool great, we also seek to bring stability to the business marketplace. To do so, at this time we are enacting a price freeze on all Festool products, extending Festool’s marketplace-pricing that has now been in place for two years. This price freeze includes suspension of any forecasted price increases that were to be implemented for April 2020.

I wonder it the Australian price will remain the same. Our dollar is not doing very well at present. Lots of RRP prices are set to go north.

This news gives me some hope that I may still be able to get some green medicine.

Price freeze? So if prices aren’t going down with the economy, does that mean a price freeze is actually an increase? Just wondering because the market usually makes this choice for them.....e.g., lower demand, lower price.

They had announced a price increase and then they suspended the implementation of that increase. Don’t overthink it.

It's the easiest thing to do and the least they could do. I suspect we won't see anything else on this topic from them. I never have taken Festool to be very good at customer public relations. I own plenty of their tools but anything more creative or novel for buying during this time is likely not to be seen from them. Maybe I will be proven wrong which would be great.

I think real discounts on all repairs would be the right move given how many builders are still working etc. I also would like to see deeper discounts to the recon tools. So many times those discounts run shallow. And why not some kind of promotion on the most popular tools? I suspect with the latter their inventory would get shot so maybe not etc. At the very, very least have a COVID page asking people what they would like to see because many of us would hope that with a small company they could do some cool stuff for either existing customers or ones migrating over for the first time.

The Kapex + Cart deal they are doing is effectively a promotion, so good on them.

I didn't see this news until now.  Is this from Festool USA, or from the headquarters in Germany, speaking on behave of Festool worldwide??

Hey Brice,

Festool had announced a price increase that was going to take effect on April 1.  Then it was announced that they were not going to implement that in the US.  I am certain that both Festool DE and Festool USA were involved in those discussions.
